Gigli. Glitter. This Blog.
Warning: This blog may be the worst ever written.
I’m not quite sure where to start this blog, because I haven’t really decided whether this should be more of serious blog or more of a funny blog. I think it might end up being like a “Lucas: Unscripted” blog from back in the days of Freewebs, but we shall see.
So, I think I will start with last weekend as a jumping off point for the rest of this blog. I basically have a four day weekend, because I have three full days off and Thursday after 12:00 is free as well, and who does anything (let alone get up) before noon? As such, one would think I would get a lot done in these four days, but it seems almost the opposite; the more time I have, the more willing I am to procrastinate. It’s honestly ridiculous because I make these grandiose four day plans with goals in my head and by Sunday afternoon the goals have been whittled down to one thing: get to the cafeteria before it closes at 7. (Sadly, that’s even hard sometimes.) So it was rather nice when I actually did something last weekend, even if it was for one day: Rachael was in Toronto for a few days and we met up downtown. It was actually lots of fun; we kind of just wandered around Queen St., made a stop at the Eaton Centre, wandered around Dundas and had a generally good time. Seeing one of my London friends makes me miss London so much; I actually wish I could have a week of high school back.
Okay, this blog sucks. I’m sitting in the little study room at the top of Hilliard because its always quiet and it has a sunroof so it’s bright and cheery. I’m only up here because my room is so fucking disgusting. You see, on Monday I decided I would do a Spring Cleaning, inspired by the beautiful summer-esque weather we were having. I did a whole bunch of laundry, pulled out bins and started going through them, unshelved some books and generally made a mess. But then 6 o’clock rolled around, which meant I had to leave for French; by the time I got back, I was so tired that I couldn’t continue cleaning. I woke up Tuesday (and Wednesday and Thursday) expecting to finish my Spring Cleaning-turned-Hurricane and it still hasn’t happened. The mess makes it hard to focus on anything but the computer chair I sit in; in fact, I spent all morning/part of this afternoon watching TV.
Speaking of TV, a few things I want to say. First of all, on Wednesdays from 8pm until 10pm, everyone needs to tune into CKRG 89.9 FM to hear TeleTalk; it’s a radio show that Stefani and I created and it’s all about TV. If you don’t live in the area, you can listen to it over the Internet through iTunes. Just click this link and it will add CKRG into iTunes and BANG! You have TeleTalk with Sandy and Kirsten. Second, I just watched Thursday night’s Grey Anatomy episode; I don’t normally like to single episodes out and talk about them because most people don’t watch all the shows I watch. But oh-my-fucking-god that episode was so good. (Editor’s Note: SPOILER ALERT!)The first three quarters was average, but the end was so heartbreaking I actually teared up; I thought I was going to cry. The Cristina/Izzy storyline was resolved so perfectly; Cristina was in the surgery room and just blurted out Izzy’s cancer secret. The look on Bailey and Karev’s faces were so perfect; but the most heartbreaking moment was when George ran into the room to see Izzy, and everyone was there supporting her. Like, it makes me want to cry right now; it was just so fucking good. Television this season had been kind of mediocre, but Grey’s is starting to stand out as wonderful. Also, I totally called Derek being the only one who could save Izzy – Karla can back me upon that.
Speaking of Karla, she had a friend (yes, she has a friend) visit her last night. Her friend, Lee Ann I think her name was (she knows April apparently), came to see Spring Awakening. So Karla spends all week bitching that she doesn’t want to see it, claiming she’s going to hate it, she doesn’t want to spend the $25 student rush fare etc. So yesterday, Karla decides she’s going to go and they invited me along because I’ve wanted to see Spring Awakening since like the end of 2007, but I couldn’t go because of GME. Anyways, 9 o’clock rolls around and I’m sitting at Keele eating some Indian food with Noodle and Bitsch when I get a text from Karla; “OMG This is amazing I love it we have to come see it again”. I wanted to scream “NO FUCK”. I don’t know why people just don’t trust my excellent taste in the arts.
This blog is suckaging major. This past two weeks, I’ve been using “y’all” in total seriousness. Rachael and I were in a food court and I went up to the cashier and was like, “Do y’all take debit?”. I know people think it’s wrong (y’all are what linguists call perscriptivists) but it’s just the most handy speech anomaly ever.
All week, I had been putting off this blog because I had no time; every time I thought of a new idea, I would tell myself to add it to the large pile of ideas I need to talk about. I think the pile is lost somewhere in my room.
Lucas’ 10 Things
- Tina found me a BBIL. He’s a tad uglier than I would have liked, but she got the right idea. Points for actually getting a picture of him, with his knowledge.
- I was thinking about people I knew who were definitely going to go to U of T from South and I still don’t know any. Why is that everyone decides on Western?
- I don’t like sushi. My Dad always thinks I like it and he brings it home sometimes thinking it’ll be the grandest of surprises. I know I’m a bad white person, but I really don’t think it tastes very good. I don’t like fish to begin with, and seaweed is just nasty, and cold, clumpy rice is just weird; it still amazes me that people eat sushi, let alone the even wackier cousin, sashimi.
- West Side Story opened on Broadway a few nights ago after like a 30 year absence; I hated the movie a lot, but the music is just undeniably amazing. How could you not want to see that, even if you can’t stop laughing at the idiosyncratic dance-like snapping from the Sharks and the Jets?
- Fuck Ugly Betty; it sucks so much these days. I hope they kill off Betty. That would be good. (In a weird reversal, I actually don’t want Meredith dead right now. Whoa.)
- I want to keep writing this blog forever, so that when I’m 75 I can publish all of it. (Editor’s Blog: I mean Pity Pie, not this particular blog.)
- Man, this blog is so uninspired I’m not sure if I’ll even publish it.
- Hooo-humm….
- I think my friends will call this “Fail”
- Download Nighttiming by Coconut Records; its a good song.
Okay, I’m putting this shit out of its misery. Better stuff to come when my room is clean, I am thinking.
That blog wasn’t that bad. Despite me not being it.
And I too fucking hate Ugly Betty. Like, honestly, last night, I couldn’t even watch it. Betty has become the least likable of all the characters. The only ones I like anymore are Marc and Amanda. Everyone else can (I REMOVED THE REST OF GLORIA’S SENTENCE BECAUSE IT WAS INAPPROPRIATE).
Lmao, now I REALLY want to know what Gloria said.
Also, Grey’s Anatomy is absolutely incredible. It’s fantastic for any mood. It’s exciting, romantic, suspenseful, and artistic. It has just the right amount of gossip, the right amount of real life emotion, and the right amount of fantasy.
I simply can’t understand when people don’t appreciate the beauty of that show.
Also, Western is a great school, despite the negative comments London highschoolers often have about it. Toronto was very, very tempting, and it still breaks my heart that I had to reject their offer.
(EDITED OUT BY ME BECAUSE GLORIA IS BEING STUPID.)
It’s cause U of T is a bad undergrad school, DUH!
And your welcome for the picture. I realized he wasn’t exactly BBIL when I actually took the picture. Everyone looks prettier when it’s dark lol.
You failed harder than Daniel failed with Karla
Yes I know Leeanna!! Lol we did hayrides together years ago:) aww thats so cute:) and yes Lucas your too harsh on your own blogs, I have yet to pull myself together and write and even less inspired blog then yours lol. Its really not that bad, and soooo true about greys.
